Hey everyone!!! Its me again!! I'm doing great and am just loving life out here :)
The first week of another transfer!!! It was amazing! Got some serious sun and sweat!! We were talking to someone of the street who literally grabbed a napkin in the middle of the converstaion, handed it to me and said, "Sister, wipe your neck" hahahhaa yikes my b... I cant help it
Anyways, good week full of lessons, activities, hiking, and running in the mountains!!
On Wednesday we succeeded in teaching our friends in all 3 of our zones. We ran over to Murro to teach our friend and do some more contacts with people there. There haven't been any missionaries there for a while so its fun to talk and introduce ourselves and what we do. Then we came back for a lesson here in Queimada then grabbed a taxi up to Djeu to teach 2 cute families up there!! Coming back in time to grab grilled chicken from our friend for dinner at 9. Yep, quite the adventure but it all worked out which was the biggest miracle.
There was a devotional with Elder Soares for the YSA on friday and so we went to a random house with a little store beneath it and asked if we could use their Internet to watch the transmission since we were up in Atalaia. This dude was such a homie, ended up letting us use his phone since he didn't know the password and then sat and watched the entire devotional with us. His son came and sat down with us too and it was so fun to watch it altogether!!!
Then that night we had an activity in the old chapel up in Atalaia which was a blast!! Our besties cleaned it all up for us last week so we had a hyped game night with a lot of our friends! One of them, Alexander a 10 year old twin, brought his book of mormon and was excited to read it with us at the end during our spiritual part!!! So precious!! And then we ran down the mountain with them afterwards back home! Felt young again hanging out with the youth and running around at night kkkk
Kinda crazy that night there was also rain, thunder, and lightning so kinda exciting!!
Saturday we went for a run in the morning and I was closer than ever to jumping into that beautiful blue water 10 feet away. BUT I do love the mish so I didn't and just waiting for the cold shower at home. I'll attach a pic and hopefully you'll understand the struggle a little more. ;)
Sunday we went up in the Hiace to pick up our friends for church and ended up running up and down the mountains in Atalaia and Djeu trying to pass everyone we invited. Hahaha God loves effort right?? Definitely felt it today when I woke up :)
Em fim... another fantastic week and I am so grateful for all I've been blessed with and the gospel of Jesus Christ we have in our lives today. A quote by Sister Soares that I loved is that the church's purpose is to help us LIVE the gospel! That's where the happiness comes from.
As I read the Saints book about the church's history I am more and more amazed and grateful for their sacrifice and faith to persevere through the hard times trusting in the Lord's promises! I am working on trusting in the Lord and showing my faith. Elder Soares explained that a little child once told him faith is not worrying. I am working on letting go of my worries and having more faith in the Lord and let Him take control.
I love my Savior and this work! Show your love and gratitude this week for those around you including your HEAVENLY FATHER!! ♡♡♡
