Heyyy!! Well welcome back to the update of Sister Jensen's life!!
Can't believe another week has passed, but boy was General Conference amazing. Just to start off my update, I have a new love for General Conference. Literally amazing how God responds to us so directly. Its almost as if He put a certain phrase into my head that I'd been thinking about just to have it repeatedly addressed during Conference. Anyways, I have a huge testimony of prophets and apostles and im so grateful for our living leaders of the Church and all they do for us. If you didn't get the chance to listen, I invite you to go check out the recordings and reread the talks again. The peace and spirit you feel is incredible.
The other part of the week was good! It was the first whole week I had in my area for a good while so it was nice to be back with Sister Villavicencio. We taught and invited everyone to listen to Conference hehehe (of course) and here in Cabo Verde they actually stream one session on the TV so everyone that wants can watch!!!
On Saturday morning, we went and helped Koia and Taxinho with their house bakery and it was amazing!!! They sell bread everyday from the second story window but id never been inside that part of their house before. They literally have a blaze pizza oven in their house!! And they make bread, pastels, donuts, and cakes every morning at the crack of dawn. I told Koia if she comes to America I'll work with her and we'll start a bakery. They are our parents here and the coolest people hands down.
Other fun updates!! President Wunderli has invited us to serve our members more so we also got to spend some more time with Matilde. She is this 4'9" older lady who is adorable and loves to tease us which of course we love too!!! She made us cous-cous and we forgot the night before to pick it up on our way home so guess who shows up outside our house yeling sisters at 7 the next morning?!?! Cute matilde, holding the cous-cous in her hands. (Mind you, no one ever comes to our house, only the police that one time we got robbed, but other than that we always go to their houses) so we run down and apologize and she just laughs and says go eat a good breakfast and it literally made my day. So I decided to introduce the concept of heart attacking here and we left her some cute notes on her purple wooden door at 9:25 pm hahaha (once again love the life of a missionary :))
Also got to leave with a soon to be missionary here, Tatiana and it was fun to get to know a couple more people, and teach with someone who is a native again. Hahaha forgot what it's like to be fluent in a language
Last fun fact: this week we got strangely excited for Christmas and Sister Villy got some Christmas music and we bought apple cinnamon air freshener... so that's been one of the highlights of my week haha :)
Anyways, sorry this was everywhere!!
This week we did a lot of contacts trying to find new people and find new less actives to teach. And God blessed us with a lot of people that want to come to church which is always the best. I love getting to meet people and testify immediately of the restored gospel and why we are here. One of my favorite parts of missionary work!! :)
I finished the first Saints book and have a stronger testimony of Joseph Smith and a greater respect for all the early day saints that sacrificed so much for the gospel!! I know God provides and love all the promises He gives His prophets.
Scripture of the week: Matthew 11:28-30
Was mentioned multiple times in Conference and I love the hope and promise we have of the healing power of the Savior. Truly turn to Him and you will find rest. Never forget of the love Christ has for YOU!!
Have a FANTASTIC week!! Love yall, and thanks for reading ;)
